About the event
Not only in Zen Buddhism but also in Vedic texts a lot of attention has been given to acquiring a calm and tranquil mind. Either by learning from nature itself or putting emphasis on analyzing and understanding its inherent dynamic mechanism rather than getting too worked up with strenuous intellectual gymnastics.
The mind's primary functions of thinking, feeling and willing can be implemented in a proactive, positive manner in order to elevate one’s individual’s state of consciousness rather than to simply strain one’s empiric perception in the process of acquiring positive knowledge.
About the speaker: Georg M. Hilbi is an alumnus of University of Zurich, holding a PHD in Art History. After extensive travels around the globe researching human art legacies and culture his main emphasis consists in promoting intercultural discourses incorporating Vedic culture and its scientific approach to existential human necessities.
